A little about Michelle & Justin

Portland photography studio Artistique Photographie specializes in beautiful
wedding photography in the Portland Oregon area as well as Seattle, San
Francisco, Napa Valley, Mexico, Hawaii and other destination weddings
worldwide.

Michelle & Justin’s primary goal is that every client ‘s
photography experience is amazing! As newlyweds, best friends,
dog-lovers (particularly their lovable greyhound, Mr. Gordon), business
partners and artists, Michelle and Justin truly enjoy making people
happy through photography. Bringing people together, being part of them
enjoying each other and capturing those special moments is a rewarding
experience. Their award winning wedding photography style may be
described as a fun mix of relaxed, creative portraiture & modern
documentary with a touch of fashion influence. With an extensive
background in formal portraiture, they also capture beautiful, timeless
family portraits to be enjoyed for years to come.

Michelle received her photography training in Minneapolis and
opened her first portrait studio at age 18. She trained in all aspects
of photography, including portraiture, architecture, advertising and
photojournalism, which creates a more rounded and exciting approach to
capturing weddings, family and senior portraits. After owning studios
in both the Minneapolis and Eugene areas, Michelle moved to the
Portland area and started Artistique Photographie with her husband,
Justin in 2004. Since then, they have become recognized as one of the
top studios in the northwest, winning multiple awards for their
creative wedding images and fine art wedding albums.

Emily & Justin’s Engagement Session in Las Vegas, at the Neon Boneyard, Red Rock and Fremont Street

Justin and I were in Las Vegas last week for the WPPI Convention (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, more on that later!) and our fabulous couple Emily and Justin flew in so we could shoot their engagement session. They decided they would like a vintage feel for their photos, so chose some killer costumes and Emily had her hair and makeup done by a professional. We started off the day at the Neon Boneyard, a museum where many of the old Vegas Strip signs are stored. It is an amazing place to shoot and although we only had an hour there, we got some great shots! Next we went out to Red Rock Canyon, which is an unbelievably beautiful park, about 25 minutes west of the Strip. After shooting there for a little while (it was COLD!) we headed back to Fremont Street, stopping on the way to get this amazing scenic of the mountains, just as the sun was going down.

We actually got booted out of the covered part of Fremont street, by a zealous security guard on a Segway. Not daunted, we wandered down towards the El Cortez (yikes!) and got some great neon shots. Here are some of our picks from the shoot…emilyblog01emilyblog02emilyblog03emilyblog04emilyblog05emilyblog06emilyblog07emilyblog08emilyblog09emilyblog10emilyblog11emilyblog12emilyblog13emilyblog14emilyblog15emilyblog16emilyblog17emilyblog18
