Portland Photography

I had a great time today shooting Lauren Riback’s model portfolio! We donated a model portfolio session to each of the winners of the 2008 Miss Portland Pageant. Six titles are won at the pageant, including Miss Portland, Miss Multnomah, Miss West Coast, and each title also has a Miss Outstanding Teen winner also. This year’s pageant is being held this Saturday, March 28th at the Scottish Rite Center in Portland. For more info on the pageant, or becoming a contestant, visit the Miss Portland website. 

We started in the studio today and did a couple of different headshot looks for Lauren. Next we went to George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego for some shots, then ended up in downtown LO for a more urban look. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot….

We shot McKenzie and JB’s wedding at Timberline Lodge yesterday! After a week of great weather, it decided to snow like crazy on Saturday. Both snowboard, so a snowy day was just perfect. We got a few fun pictures outside in the blizzard anyway and some great pictures around the Lodge. It’s an amazing place to shoot and having a gorgeous couple made for some dramatic images. We would like to wish the best of luck to JB, who is being deployed to Iraq shortly. You can view a slide show here.

We are SO happy to announce that we were awarded two Accolades of Excellence at the WPPI convention in Las Vegas several weeks ago. We received one Accolade for Myriah & Jesse’s album (see Album of the Year in post below) and another for a portrait of Myriah. Our print hung in the print salon and will be published in the WPPI annual coffee table book “Album 2009″. As these were our first entries into international competition, we were extremely happy with the results! Here I am with my print and also the print itself.

We shot Chris and Erin’s wedding yesterday and have been working on a few shots today to post! The wedding was at All Saint’s Church in Laurelhurst and the reception was at McMenamin’s Edgefield. We love shooting at Edgefield, but try getting a shot on the steps at checkin time! People were quite oblivious to a bride and groom trying to get a quick picture! We got some great stuff anyway, and had a super time with Chris and Erin. Have fun in Mexico guys and we will see you when you get back!
