Portland Photography

At the beginning of October we shot Ben and Cassy’s wedding in McMinnville, OR. The next weekend we headed to Playa del Carmen, Mexico to shoot Roxy & Dan’s wedding. It worked out perfectly as Ben & Cassy were honeymooning in Cancun, about 45 minutes north of Playa! We arranged to do a “honeymoon shoot” while we were there. Other than the fact that is was insanely hot and humid, we had a great time. There are so many cool walls and buildings to shoot against! We walked down Fifth Avenue then headed to the beach. Here are some of our favorites from the shoot…

Lauren wanted something a little different for her senior portraits… She came to the right place since “something different” is what we love to do. Thank you so much Lauren for helping us with this promo video, you rock!

Maria & Kurt got married at First Baptist Church in Portland on June 27th with the reception following at the Acadian Ballroom. They are such a fun couple and we had an awesome day with them! We met them at the Governor Hotel where they got ready, then the couple with the whole bridal party hopped on the party bus and went to the Treasure Building downtown. We stopped by the park blocks for some more shots on the way to the church. Maria and Kurt included Kurt’s two little girls in their service by performing a sand ceremony uniting the new family. After the ceremony, the party really started at the Acadian! Instead of the traditional first dance, the couple did an MMA fight night number, complete with boxing gloves and a hilarious montage of songs with some funky moves for each. The night finished up with a sparkler exit to Maria’s new orange Dodge Challenger!

The couple had some awesome vendors including Lillypilly, our own wonderful wedding florist! I say it every time, but Wendy and Lindsi are amazing. Scott and Amanda with Ambient Sky (yup, our own wonderful wedding videographers!) shot the video and did a same day edit, which they showed at the reception. A same day edit is a short film of the wedding day from the preparations through the ceremony which is actually shown at the reception! It is truly amazing and a huge surprise for all the guests. We shot Dacia and Ryan’s wedding on June 26th at Lewis River Golf Course. We were super excited to start with for their wedding because we shot Dacia’s sister Lindsey and her husband Tony’s wedding three years ago! Dacia and Ryan are the cutest couple ever, they are so into each other it made getting fabulous photos of them a breeze. Lewis River is a gorgeous venue and the weather couldn’t have been better. Here are some of our favorites from the day! By the way, this is the first time EVER we have done a wedding where the GROOM made the wedding cake! It was SO delicious.

Finally! We get to post our photos of the fashion shoot we did last week for Dosha, Aveda and Papier Couture. We shot the dresses at the new event space Venue Pearl on the third floor of the Aveda Institute building at 13th and Flanders. The Oregon Bride “Best of” party was held last night (more photos from the party later) and the paper dresses were the finale to the runway show. Eric Newland from Hybrid Moon Videography shot video for both the shoot and the event. Here are some of our favorite shots from the shoot and some “behind the scenes” shots too.
