Maria & Kurt’s Wedding at First Baptist Church and the Acadian Ballroom, Portland OR

Maria & Kurt got married at First Baptist Church in Portland on June 27th with the reception following at the Acadian Ballroom. They are such a fun couple and we had an awesome day with them! We met them at the Governor Hotel where they got ready, then the couple with the whole bridal party hopped on the party bus and went to the Treasure Building downtown. We stopped by the park blocks for some more shots on the way to the church. Maria and Kurt included Kurt’s two little girls in their service by performing a sand ceremony uniting the new family. After the ceremony, the party really started at the Acadian! Instead of the traditional first dance, the couple did an MMA fight night number, complete with boxing gloves and a hilarious montage of songs with some funky moves for each. The night finished up with a sparkler exit to Maria’s new orange Dodge Challenger!

The couple had some awesome vendors including Lillypilly, our own wonderful wedding florist! I say it every time, but Wendy and Lindsi are amazing. Scott and Amanda with Ambient Sky (yup, our own wonderful wedding videographers!) shot the video and did a same day edit, which they showed at the reception. A same day edit is a short film of the wedding day from the preparations through the ceremony which is actually shown at the reception! It is truly amazing and a huge surprise for all the guests. You can view it here!
